Faith Hill and Tim McGraw To Host Nashville Flood Recovery Benefit Concert

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are hosting a benefit concert June 22 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to benefit flood victims. Already committed to perform are Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus and Brooks & Dunn. The concert is named “Nashville Rising – A Benefit Concert For Flood Recovery”. It ought to be a great show for a great cause. If they ask, I’ll come howl a few tunes!

Wy says it started out as discussions about a CD and led to this. Like Flo used to say, “Well kiss my grits.”

Here’s A Real Guitar Tear-Jerker
Not to trivialize the lives and homes lost in Nashville’s floods, but it sure does bring a tear to this old dog’s eye to think of all the guitars, they say about 1,000, and other equipment that was destroyed or severely damaged in the floods. Lots of musicians, from big name stars like Vince Gill, LeAnn Rimes, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban stored their instruments at a big warehouse in Nashville called SoundCheck. It flooded. One musician compared it to the Louvre flooding.

Chris Young Isn’t Singing The Blues
Chris Young’s “The Man I Want To Be” is #1 for the second week in a row. Guess you have become that recording artist you want to be now Chris! Woof. Woof.

Jamey Johnson Has Reading, Writing & Rhythmn
Why do they put so many “h’s” in rhythmn? Anyway, this is the 10th Annual Reading, Writing & Rhythmn concert hosted by Chely Wright. Proceeds go to help education programs across the country. It is June 8th at TPAC in Nashville. Also playing are Rodney Crowell, Bucky Covington, Justin Moore, Buxton Hughes, Jann Arden, and Reading, Writing & Rhythm's Founder Chely Wright.
