My turkey-frying friend Jason Aldean has hit the No. 1 spot on the singles chart with his newest release, “She’s Country”. Jason says he realizes how hard it is to hit that spot and he’s very grateful to fans and his “team”.  I just appreciate him doing a song about my mama.

Jason Michael Carroll’s second release, Growing Up Is Getting Old, comes out today. Tell me about it Jason. Its so much worse living in dog years. The lead single – “Where I’m From” – is heating up the charts too.

Keith Urban, Sugarland, and Def Leppard have been added to the performers list of the CMT Music Awards. You’d think Def Leppard might have gone through the wrong door at CMT parent company MTV. They’re actually up for an award though. Well “Pour Some Sugar On Me”.

Kenny Rogers will be at the “Divas NashVegas” fundraising event. He’s their first “He-Va”. The Judds will also reunite for the event. Its one of the hottest charity events in Nashville. You can bid on a special package that’ll get you backstage here - Bid at http://www.cmtauctions.com/cgi-bin/auction.cgi?action=ProductList&Mode=Browse&CategoryID=1000000000334802. Kenny Rogers a “He-Va”, I don’t know about that.

Merlefest, held this past weekend in Wilkesboro, NC at the Wilkes Community College drew over 70,000 fans. The family-oriented bluegrass event had one of its best years ever in spite of the economy. That ought to have ‘em pickin’ and grinnin’ for a while.
