Since his debut in 1990, Tim McGraw has become one of the most well-known names in Nashville. He has sold more than 40 million albums, had 11 albums debut at No. 1 and 30 No. 1 singles. His success has earned him the honor of being named Nielsen BDS’s Most Played Artist of the Decade Award.

Jon Peck of Nielsen Music recently presented McGraw with a plaque commemorating 7,965,000 radio spins, the most airplay for any artist, across all genres, from 2000-2009.

"We congratulate Tim McGraw on being the most played artist of the decade on radio," said Eric Weinberg, president of Nielsen Entertainment. "His career and songs have resonated not only with his fans, but has become part of the fabric of America, evidenced by his unprecedented airplay."

McGraw is currently on his Southern Voice tour. His newest movie, Country Song, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, will debut in December.
