Oscars Gone Country

The creative folks from Nashville worked their way into the Oscar Awards Sunday night with T Bone Burnett and songwriter Ryan Bingham winning for Best Movie Soundtrack or something like that, from the film Crazy Heart. Sandra Bullock won as Best Actress for her roll in The Blind Side, which co-starred Tim McGraw, who was in attendance with his wife Faith Hill, who is prettier than most the stars in Hollywood. I don’t know about Jeff Bridges name in the movie Crazy Heart though, Bad Blake? Sounds like a nickname for a 3-year-old, a thug, or a German Shepard to me.

 

Did Brad Paisley Really Fall On Stage?

I guess every dog does have his day. I’ve seen the footage now of Brad Paisley taking a tumble on stage.   He says he thought he broke a rib but it was just bruises. And he was singing “Alcohol”! Guess it really does make you do things you don’t wan to Brad. Woof.

Just over $450,000 that is! That’s what they say that old Buckaroo owes in back taxes. I guess Dwight wishes he was “a million miles from nowhere” about now.

 

So That’s “How Country Boys Roll”

Billy Currington has his 5th #1 Single with his current hit “That’s How Country Boys Roll”. It is the first #1 he’s actually helped write though. It is a great song, but personally I think if they’d mentioned, just mentioned I mean, having a hound dog…well, it just would have completed the song. Woof.

 

Tammy Wynette Memorabilia at Hall of Fame

Tammy’s widower, George Richey, has let the Country Music Hall of Fame use some of her stage costumes and other memorabilia like Grammy, ACM, and CMA awards. It’s all on display at the Hall of Fame now. I wonder if they have the “queen of country music’s” crown there? 

 

Little Big Town Population Grows

Woofs to Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town on the birth of their first child. Son Elijah Dylan was born last week in Nashville, not in the boondocks. I heard he was conceived down by the crawfish hole. 

 

Zac Brown Band Puts Out Live CD

It’s called “Pass The Jar - Zac Brown Band and Friends Live from the Fabulous Fox Theatre In Atlanta”. I’ll bet it’s as good as the title is long.
