Kanye West has drawn the ire of the music world for interrupting Taylor Swift's VMA acceptance speech Sunday night, and now it seems he has offered a sincere apology, TheBoot.com reported.
West issued an apology on his blog Sunday night after he jumped up on stage during Swift's speech and exclaimed that Beyonce Knowles should have won the Best Female Video Award instead. The rambling paragraph was removed soon after. It is possible that West was intoxicated at the awards, as he was seen drinking from a liquor bottle throughout the night.
However, Kanye has since issued a far more simple and sincere apology on his blog.
"I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave," he wrote. "That was Taylor's moment, and I had no right to take it away from her.  I am truly sorry."
CNN.com has since reported that West called Swift Tuesday to apologize for his actions. In an interview with ABC radio, Swift said, "Kanye did call me and he was very sincere in his apology. And I accepted that apology."
West was immediately kicked out of the VMA Awards after the incident. Swift got to finish her speech when Beyonce, who won for Best Video, invited her back on stage.
