Sugarland and Tim McGraw on Oprah
Sugarland and Tim McGraw were all on Oprah this past Monday to help celebrate Christmas.  It was billed as her Music Extravaganza.  Sugarland sang with Jennifer Hudson and Tim McGraw did a duet of John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” with Alicia Keys.  I was planning on howling a duet of “Silent Night” with UT’s mascot Smokey but come to find out he only knows the words to “Rocky Top”.  Woof.

Country Stars on Holiday Tours
Kenny Rogers, Wynonna, Ricky Skaggs and Sara Evans are among the country music stars planning special holiday concert tours.  I’m sure if you Google their names you can find details.  Sara Evans, by the way, has a new holiday song called “New Again” she co-wrote with Brad Paisley!

Dierks Bentley On Waylon Tribute Album
Dierks Bentley broke Jessi Colter’s heart, according to her, with his version of “Lonesome, Or’nry and Mean” on an upcoming Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter tribute album.  Other stars paying tribute include Patti Griffin, ZZ Top, Kris Kristofferson, Bob Seger, Trace Adkins and more.

What The Holidays Are About
Bucky Covington, Love and Theft, and Sawyer Brown all showed up recently at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville for a surprise guitar pull that included a lot of Christmas songs.  The children at the hospital joined on some with their play drums, tambourines, etc.  Major woofs to you guys for making some children’s day!
