It's CMA Awards week in Nashville, and co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are gearing up to make the night a memorable one for everyone. The pair, who are each nominated for CMA Awards, will be sharing hosting duties for the second consecutive year, and Underwood told CMT Country Countdown USA Host Lon Helton that she isn't as nervous this time around.
"I think there's much more excitement this year as opposed to nerves last year," she said. "Neither one of us had ever done anything like this before, and you just don't want to mess up. It's such a special night for everybody involved that you don't want to be the reason it's not as wonderful as it could be."
Even though her fellow hoster is known for his joking personality, Underwood said that she has Paisley under control. "He's a fun guy, he's a jokester, but he knows the limits," she explained. "We can't be hiding Carrie's dresses on the CMAs. That's a bad idea. I'm just going to say that now. But I'm not worried. He's funny, he's a prankster, but he's also really professional so we both want the night to be an amazing night for everyone."
Paisley received seven CMA nominatiions, and Underwood went on to say that "he deserves every single one. He's super talented and deserves every single drop of praise that he gets."
Tune into the CMA Awards Wednesday night, Nov. 11, on ABC.
