Carrie Underwood Rocks Hollywood Bowl

Carrie-Underwood
Carrie Underwood definitely 'ain’t in Checotah anymore' as one song on her debut album states. Underwood recently performed to a sold-out audience of 17,000 on Saturday at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl.

“What an honor it is to stand on this stage,” Underwood said during the show. “I have never had the honor of being here ever before in my life.  I have only seen it on TV and in movies, so excuse me if I get a little emotional tonight.  The wall of people in front of me is just spectacular!  This is truly an unforgettable night – thank you so much!”

Underwood, who has won five Grammy awards and the ACM Entertainer of the Year Award twice, played alongside her band as well as the legendary Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Several other surprises were unveiled as the show went on, including Randy Travis during “I Told You So” and rock guitarist Orianthi, who played on her hit, “Last Name. The show ended with a roar of fireworks choreographed to “Before He Cheats” and the energetic last song “Songs Like This.”

The other performers who opened the night for Underwood were Billy Currington and Sons of Sylvia. The Play On Tour, sponsored by vitamin water and Olay, will make a stop in more than 100 cities in 2010 before its conclusion Dec. 19 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
