Tracy & Eddie Montgomery Receive Key to City

4/14/2008 Lisa Ann Schleipfer Eddie Montgomery, one-half of Country Music duo Montgomery Gentry, and his wife Tracy will be honored in Danville, Kentucky next week.  Danville City Commissioners and Mayor Hugh Coomer will recognize the couple for their philanthropic efforts in a ceremony on April 14. The husband and wife are credited with helping raise more than $20,000 for the city’s Christmas Toy Drive in the past several years.  The couple also organize an event to bring Country Music fans to Boyle County. The Montgomerys have organized several bus events, which display tour buses used by acts such as Britney Spears, Faith Hill and Montgomery Gentry. The couple’s latest charitable drive is an April 30 Danville fund raiser for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.  Baskin-Robbins will be holding a 31-cent scoop night nation wide, and will donate $100,000 to the NFFF, which aids families who have lost firefighters in the line of duty.
