Blake's Choir Advances to Clash Finals

12/20/2007 Stephen L. Betts When he put together his choir, Blake Shelton had no doubt his group would win on NBC-TV’s Clash of the Choirs. His singers have proven him right so far, as Team Shelton advances to the finals tonight. Last night they turned in a rendition of Marc Broussard's “Home,” and in addition, blended the Christmas classic “Joy to the World” with the Three Dog Night hit of the same name, penned by one of Blake’s songwriting heroes, the late Hoyt Axton, drawing praise from the other choir leaders for the intricacies of the vocals. Blake’s team also accompanied him for his performance of “This Can't Be Good,” from his latest CD, Pure BS. Michael Bolton's choir was eliminated on last night's show, leaving Blake to once again face Patti LaBelle and Nick Lachey's choirs as they vie for the $250,000 prize for their hometown charities on the one-hour Clash of the Choirs finale on NBC tonight (12/20).
