While Country Music artist Brad Paisley may have never won the sought-after Entertainer of the Year Award, does it really matter when the last seven of your singles released to radio consistently top the Country Music charts with the No.1 spot? Even though Paisley’s album 5th Gear has already had its share of No. 1 singles on Country Music radio with “Letter to Me”, “Online” and his latest, “I’m Still a Guy” to name a few, he is releasing “Waitin’ on a Woman” from his Time Well Wasted album. The song was a big underground hit with Paisley’s fans and critics. New York’s Village Voice said the song was a “superb domestic-intimacy song”, and the Chicago Sun-Times called it, “A philosophical, slice-of-life tale that ranks among Paisley’s best story-songs.” Paisley agrees. “‘Waitin’ on a Woman’ is one of the most important songs I’ve recorded; it’s a masterpiece written by Wynn Varble and Don Sampson,” he said. So it’s fitting that a masterpiece song would feature a star in its music video that would compliment its caliber. Enter special guest star and American family feel-good icon, Andy Griffith. “One of the greatest moments in my career was getting to shoot this video with Andy Griffith and getting to know him,” said Paisley. “I’ll cherish this video and opportunity to become friends with this wonderful and influential man for the rest of my life.” The song’s video is due out in late June and “Waitin’ on a Woman” will be added and available on new copies of 5th Gear.
