Mark Wills to Host GAC's The Year
3/17/2008 Country music singer Mark Wills returns as host of GAC's The Year. The second season of the flashback show will begin March 30th at 6 p.m. EST and features a nostalgic recollection of the country music events of 1988. The Year relives the successes and short-comings of country pop-culture from the 1980s, '90s, and the early part of the 21st century, showing some of the most popular country music videos that reflect the particular time period. The second season of the GAC series will highlight 1988's classic duet by Dwight Yoakum and Buck Owens on the hit single, "Streets of Bakersfield," as well as the achievement of CDs to outsell vinyl albums for the first time. Mark Wills, who found success with his own recollective hit, "19 Somethin'" says, "Viewers are really going to have a blast looking back and remembering the years we cover on the show. I think they will also get a kick out of seeing some of their favorite artists' fashion train wrecks of the '80s and '90s!" Vintage episodes of The Year that showcase 1992 and 2001 events are currently airing on GAC.
