Country stars are taking part in a new movement known as The Boot Campaign, set to launch on the national stage on July 23. The Boot Campaign acts as a way to help show support for combat veterans in a unique and accessible way.
The Boot Campaign found footing in Texas with the help of five women known as the “Boot Girls.”
In Tyler, Texas, at a “Country for our Country Benefit Concert,” some of the biggest Country stars in attendance took up the Boot Girls request to don combat boots and pose for photos. The goal was simply to show support for the troops, but now the campaign is expanding. Here The Boot Campaign began its still-expanding journey.
The Boot Girls began taking photos of country stars posed in combat boots, including Gretchen Wilson, Steel Magnolia, Whitney Duncan, Joe Nichols, Heidi Newfield, the Eli Young Band, No Justice and Cross Canadian Ragweed.
The campaign has also begun to spread outside of the scope of only Country, featuring celebrities such as Travis Pastrana, Kid Kraddick, Jim Caviezel and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, to name a few.
The campaign will be launched nationally on Friday, July 23, on the television show Fox and Friends, featuring special guest Joe Nichols. The campaign has also set up a goal to help raise support for the military service men and women.
“We’ve set an ambitious goal of selling 1 million pair of boots over the next year,” said Boot Campaign Executive Director, Sherri Reuland.
