The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened a new exhibit today, in honor of Country Music legend Hank Williams and his family.  Family Tradition: The Williams Family Legacy is a 5,000-square-foot exhibition that the museum touts as a “behind-the-scenes portrait” of the American music family. Museum Director Kyle Young said, “This exhibit will take the visitor inside the family to revisit the life and impact of Hank Williams, examine the struggles and musical successes of his only son, Randall Hank Williams, and study the direct descendants, who are now striving within a new generation of artists, all measuring themselves by the example of Hank Williams.” The Hank Williams Family exhibit includes more than 200 artifacts and an extensive display of audiovisual material, with the voices of all Williams’ family members heard throughout the exhibition. The undertaking was met with approval and extensive involvement of the Williams family.  Country star Hank Williams, Jr. will make an appearance Saturday, March 29 for a special question-and-answer program that also includes a performance by the artist. The exhibit runs through December 31, 2009, and will feature public programming such as live performances, films, panel discussions and opportunities for sessions with those relevant to the Williams family.
