Rodney Atkins to Perform for Adoption Awards

With a country theme for this year’s Adoption Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the National Council For Adoption could not have chosen a better entertainer than Rodney Atkins.
Rodney, NCFA’s National Adoption Spokesperson, will perform as part of the organization’s 28th Anniversary Awards Celebration at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, on April 16. The event honors those who have made great contributions to adoption all over the world.
This year’s inductees include Warren and Mary Alice Babineaux, a Louisiana couple who raised over 100 foster children, Debbie Wybrow and Brad Oliver, a married legal team from Johannesburg, South Africa who have fought tirelessly for adoption law, and Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman, who has done a lot for foster care and adoption in the United States.
The evening will conclude with Rodney Atkins, who was himself adopted as a baby, sharing stories and playing a collection of number one hits.
NCFA president and CEO Tom Atwood said he is very happy about this year’s ceremony.  “We are particularly proud of this year’s inductees,” he said. “Each individual’s selfless acts and advocacy for adoption made a significant difference in the lives of untold thousands of children worldwide.”
Tickets for the event are $75 each and may be purchased at www.adoptioncouncil.org.
