10/16/2007 Stephen L. Betts On Friday, October 26, Tracy Lawrence will celebrate the sell-out of Mayberry Place-Phase 1 in New Brockton, Alabama. In April 2006, Tracy entered into a venture with Ronnie Gilley Properties to develop Mayberry Place, a quaint community situated over 120 acres characterized by a “blend of Old South charm and New South vitality with a ‘Mayberry Feel.’” The Oct. 26 event will introduce plans for the next, and final, phase. Festivities will begin prior to the hometown high school football game with a tailgate party in the parking lot of the New Brockton High School. Tracy, who just celebrated a No. 1 record with “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” (featuring Ronnie Gilley as lead actor in the music video), will perform in an outdoor concert immediately following the football game Originally scheduled as a grand-opening celebration of Mayberry Place in early March, this is a re-scheduled concert event; the tragic tornado that struck the neighboring town, Enterprise, on March 1, 2007 forced its postponement. “New Brockton is truly a town built on the strength of its community and friendships,” says Tracy, who is a primary partner in the Mayberry development project. “Mayberry Place is in a quiet, country location where neighbors know their neighbors and sittin’ on the front porch is the most popular way to pass the time. The development is in keeping with the traditional feel of this town and I’m proud to be part of it! I’m excited to get started on the next phase.” Tracy recently donated $100,000 to the New Brockton School System to improve the overall quality of education within the community. As a special surprise to conclude the evening, Tracy will announce the winner of a trip to Nashville to attend the CMA Awards on Nov. 7. The contest is currently underway; to enter visit www.ronniegilleyproperties.com. In addition to Mayberry Place, Ronnie Gilley Properties has a broad spectrum of projects underway in unique partnerships with a number of country artists including George Jones, Kix Brooks, Alan Jackson and Darryl Worley.
