For their upcoming benefit concert for the Georgia Theater, to be held at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, the Zac Brown Band recently added new performing acts to the list of musicians scheduled to play. The show, taking place on Oct. 30, will consist of Little Big Town, Joey + Rory, Shawn Mullins, Aslyn and Oliver Wood.
The concert's proceeds will go directly to the Georgia Theater Rehabilitation Fund, an organization focusing on the renovation of a once prominent movie theater turned music hall, The Georgia Theater.
The Theater has hosted notorious musicians, including R.E.M, The Drive-by Truckers, Widespread Panic, and the B-52's; however, due to a fire earlier this year, it has been shut down. Tickets to the upcoming show will be $100.
"My band and many others have come up playing there," said Brown. "That building means far more to us, and the community, than its brick and mortar foundation. We want to make sure that it gets proper funding so we can rebuild it better than it was. It will remain a center for art and music long into the future with everyone's help.”
