Dwight Yoakam Breaks Tonight Show Record

5/13/2008 Sandy Paul Country Music singer Dwight Yoakam will make his 24th appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Thursday, breaking the record for most musical performances by any artist. Yoakam, who is currently tied with Lyle Lovett for the show's most musical performances, will perform on the NBC late-night program's outdoor concert series, according to the Associated Press. “Jay and I always joked about it," Yoakam said. "I guess Lyle and I have made a career of doing Jay's show." Dwight Yoakam will be on the show to promote his latest album, Dwight Sings Buck.  The album is a musical attribute to his late friend and mentor, Country Music legend, Buck Owens.  Next month, Dwight Yoakum will be one of the headliners wrapping up this year's CMA MusicFest in Nashville, June 8th.
