Will Rascal Flatts Be People's Choice?

1/8/2008   Rascal Flatts will compete against Daughtry and Maroon 5 for Favorite Group at tonight’s People's Choice awards. The trio is also nominated for Favorite Country Song with their hit “Stand,” and will face off in that category against Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s duet “I Need You,” and Kenny Chesney’s “Never Wanted Nothing More.” Tim McGraw is a contender in the Favorite Male Singer category, along with John Mayer and Justin Timberlake. The People's Choice Awards recognize the fans' favorites in a variety of movie and TV categories as well as in music. Because of the ongoing writers' strike, the event won't feature the usual red carpet and fan fare. Winners will instead give pre-recorded acceptance speeches. The 34th Annual People's Choice Awards air tonight on CBS at 9 p.m. (ET).
