Tracy Lawrence and some of his crew barely escaped a serious accident when a tire blew on their tour bus while careening down I-80 in Nebraska. After veering into the median and almost flipping over, the bus miraculously came to a halt with no one injured seriously. Tracy must be living right. Or should I say we know who one of his Friends are?

Rascal Flatts says if you want to interpret their new song “Love Who You Love” as endorsing a gay lifestyle, that’s okay with them. They say they have friends and coworkers who are gay and gay is okay with them. I’m just trying to see how many times I can use the word gay in a country music story cause we never get to. That’s pretty gay huh?

Eric Church is kicking up a little controversy with his new single “Lotta Boot Left To Fill”. Lyrics say, "You say you're the real deal/ But you play what nobody else feels.” Eric goes on to assert, "You sing about Johnny Cash/ The Man in Black would've whipped your …" The song is aimed at name droppers. Note to Eric, Johnny Cash in the end was about God and peace, not kicking ass. Maybe sing about that.

And Dolly parton says her release “Only Dreamin’” from the Backwoods Barbie cd, is about missing Appalachia. On CMT’s Unplugged at Studio 330 Dolly talks about her writing process and how she came up with “Only Dreamin’” while homesick in NYC. Reminds me of my sister that’s my first cousin.
