Webb's Woof - Martina's Letting Her Little Light Shine!

Posted by Webb on 03/20/2009

Martina McBride is going to seem omnipresent over the next couple weeks. She’ll be all over television, print, and of course radio. Its all around publicizing her new release, Shine, and the first single, “Ride”. Of the title, Martina says, "I love the word -- I think it's really positive and strong and powerful," says McBride, "and that's one of my favorite lyrics from the song 'Ride' is 'shine, while you have the chance to shine,' because I feel like sometimes you go along, and you take things for granted. And all of a sudden, you're reminded ... you get one shot to do this. You get one shot to live this life, and you should shine while you have the chance to shine. You should go out there and be undeniable. And so, it's inspirational to me ... very inspirational." Inspiration for me is when Martina opens her mouth to sing.

Maybe this is why Kenny Chesney doesn’t like the ACM Awards being voted on by fans. West Virginia governor Joe Manchin is urging residents there to vote for Brad Paisley (a native) for the ACM’s Entertainer of the Year award. If Brad wins it would be unprecedented as a West Virginian has never been elected to that award before, something we never thought we’d see in our lifetime.

Country Music crossover Darius Rucker says he gets his hard work ethic from his mom and grandmother, who Darius says were very hard workers. I get my laziness from my mom and dad, who pretty much laid around all day doin’ nothing like I do. Being adorable does have its privileges.

You can now get ACM Award updates on Twitter. If you don’t know, I’ve been tweeting on Twitter for a while too. http://twitter.com/countryhound

And my most favoritist country music show of the year, the CMA Music Fest, announced yesterday Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, and John Rich will all be performing this year. Going to the Music Fest is like having four straight nights of steak scraps for me. Its that good!

Webb’s Daily Woof – “Spring has sprung and fall has fell, let’s hope the stock market blossoms cause I got some stocks to sell.”
