The Grand Ole Opry has added Thursday night shows this spring, beginning March 26, called Opry Country Classics. They say, “The show will feature colorful storytelling and vintage video clips as well as performances of country classics by legends of the genre as well as many of today’s talented newcomers.” I’m not sure how that’s any different from the regular Opry except for the video clips. Of course they could have classics like announcer Keith Bilbrey around without video clips if they didn’t let them go for no reason.

Darius Rucker has his second #1 with “It Won’t Be Like This For Long”. Woof to Darius. I always knew he’d be successful even when he was scrounging around with that Hootie band.

Look for Mickey Rourke and Kris Kristofferson in the video for John Rich’s “Shuttin’ Down Detroit”. I’m not sure if the two wrestle over some union demand or what.

Reba McEntire is hosting Celebrity Fight Night XV, which honors Muhammed Ali. Tickets are $1,500 to $5,000. They say it’s a “gala event” so I’m not sure where the name comes from. But if it honors Muhammed Ali I’m all for it. Woof to the “Louisville Lip”.

Kid Rock took time to trash American Idol last week while performing with the Zac Brown Band in Michigan. Rock sez, "The reason I love this band is because there ain't no tape recordings on stage. There is no ProTools on stage. ... The Zac Brown Band is the antithesis of that American Idol (expletive)." Seems someone’s crankier than Simon.

LeAnn Rimes and Reba McEntire will be performing in the Kennedy Center Spring Gale May 3rd, in D.C. of course. The two have not been linked romantically though.

Webb’s Daily Woof – “There are many fences in life. Some you go under, some you go over, others you just wait till the gate opens.”
