Webb's Woof - First Annual?

The Academy of Country Music went on PR overload yesterday, announcing some of the performers at this year’s upcoming awards show, and the Album of the Year nominees.  Performers include Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Heidi Newfield, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, and Taylor Swift.Webb too close   Album of the Year nominees are:  Back When I Knew It All – Montgomery Gentry (Columbia), Carnival Ride – Carrie Underwood (19/Arista Nashville), Fearless – Taylor Swift (Big Machine), That Lonesome Song – Jamey Johnson (Mercury), Troubadour – George Strait (MCA).  I wonder if the princess Taylor Swift will unseat King George, or maybe that jester Jamey Johnson will sneak in there?  And why don’t they have a Best in Show category?    Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus have set a milestone by becoming the first father and daughter to score a single on the charts at the same time in over twenty years.  That’s illegal everywhere but Kentucky.  The folks from Country Crossing in Alabama have announced what they call The First Annual Jones Jam.  Why do humans insist on using that first annual thing when the proper name is inaugural.  Any dog knows that.  Rick Huckaby’s been named by Music Row magazine as the “small label breakout artist of the year”.  I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.  If it is, congrats.  If its not, sorry.  And the Country Music Association has donated more than $1 million to Nashville public schools.  The money’s from proceeds of the 2008 CMA Music Festival.  That’s about the most entertaining way to raise money I’ve ever witnessed.  If you haven’t been to the Music Fest, it’ll make your hind leg go crazy with excitement.  Woof.   Webb’s Daily Woof – “A lot of dogs bark is bigger than their bite.  But why do you have to get so close to find out?”
