Webb's' Picks For 44th Annual CMA Music Awards Winners

Webb licking.JPG
You know dog’s have good ears, and us Bloodhounds have a pretty good sense of smell also, so I’ve tracked down who sounds like they will be the winners at the 44th Annual CMA Music Awards this year.
Then again, I am a dog so it would be shear luck if any I pick are actually right.

Webb’s CMA Music Awards picks:
Entertainer of the Year
Keith Urban - chicks dig him and he sure can play guitar, besides he’s married to Nicole Kidman…that makes him my hero

Female Vocalist of the Year
Carrie Underwood – I would have picked Martina McBride but these things tend to favor youth. I’ve always said Carrie is the next Martina anyway.

Male Vocalist of the Year
George Strait – just ain’t nobody any cooler or smoother. After all he is The King.

Album of the Year
(Award goes to Artist and Producer(s))
Revolution
Miranda Lambert
Produced by Frank Liddell and Mike Wrucke
Columbia Nashville
Dierks Bentley’s Up On The Ridge could also win cause it’s like retro good country though they say it has a Bluegrass influence. I pick Revolution though cause it’s why Miranda got so many nominations.

Musical Event of the Year
(Award goes to each Artist)
"Bad Angel"
Dierks Bentley featuring Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson
Capitol Records Nashville – I just saw this the other night. It’s more country than a turnip green or barbecued oppossum. Woof.

New Artist of the Year
Zac Brown Band – personally I’d choose Easton Corbin because of his voice, but Zac Brown Band just seems so popular and to create a real vibe with whatever they do.

Vocal Group of the Year
Lady Antebellum – They’re hotter than the 4th of July and even though The Zac Brown Band is in this category too, and Rascal Flatts, Lady A’s got it goin’.

Vocal Duo of the Year
Brooks & Dunn  - I’d personally choose Joey + Rory cause she’s cute and they love animals. But let’s give Brooks & Dunn a going away present?

Single of the Year
(Award goes to Artist and Producer(s))
"Need You Now"
Lady Antebellum
Produced by Paul Worley and Lady Antebellum
Capitol Records Nashville
It has that pop cross-over flavor that’s popular (get it) in country music right now. I’d choose Easton Corbin’s “A Little More Country Than That” cause Rory Feek cowrote it and it sounds like George Strait.

Song of the Year
(Award goes to Songwriter(s))
"A Little More Country Than That"
Rory Lee Feek, Don Poythress, and Wynn Varble
Cause I’m tired of picking Easton Corbin stuff as runner-up.

Music Video of the Year
(Award goes to Artist and Director)
"Hillbilly Bone"
Blake Shelton featuring Trace Adkins
Directed by Roman White
It’s one of only two in this category I can really recall. Besides Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins together just reeks of country.

Musician of the Year
Paul Franklin - Steel Guitar
Cause it takes a steel guitar to really be country. So if you play guitar I say “I’m A Little More Country Than That”.
