Clay Walker Singing for Military Heroes

9/21/2007 Stephen L. Betts Clay Walker will be in San Antonio on Nov. 15 to headline the first show on the Heroes Tour. San Antonio Spurs owner Peter Holt and the city’s AT&T Center are part of a new drive called Military Heroes Support Foundation to raise money for wounded troops coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan. Several other artists have reportedly expressed interest in doing something on a nationwide basis, and organizers hope the concerts will lead to more attention being paid to helping the wounded. “It's gonna be the grass roots effort that needs to go on,” says Holt. “Retraining, scholarships, those kinds of things, that this [Heroes Tour] will help support." Many of the troops that will receive help and support through the tour are being treated not far from the AT&T Center at Brooke Army Medical Center, and some of the men and women now recovering there will be special guests at the concert.
