Betts In addition to receiving his 37th Grammy nomination last week, Vince Gill has been revealed as one of six choices for Nashville's Tennessean newspaper “Tennessean of the Year,” an award honoring the person deemed to have made exceptional contributions to the state of Tennessee throughout the past year. Other candidates are former Tennessee governor and U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander; Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George; former vice president Al Gore; Bluebird nightclub owner Amy Kurland; and University of Tennessee women's basketball head coach Pat Summitt. The “Tennessean of the Year” will be announced in the newspaper's Dec. 30 issue.
