Vince Gill Telethon Raises $1.7 Million for Nashville Flood Relief

WSMV, the local NBC affiliate in Nashville, hosted a telethon along with Vince Gill last Thursday, May 6, to raise more than $1.7 million for flood relief. Several celebrities in the Nashville area came out to answer phone lines as thousands of people called in to pledge their donations. 
 
Among some of the celebrites were Keith Urban, Julie Roberts, Alison Krauss, Phil Vassar, Chuck Wicks, Darius Rucker, Lorrie Morgan, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bo Bice and many more. 
 
Elden Hale, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WSMV-TV Channel 4 in Nashville, stated, “Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to the singers, songwriters, musicians and technicians of Nashville for their instant response to the call to help our friends and neighbors in their time of need. We would also like to thank the thousands of people who called into the telethon to make a donation. We sincerely thank everyone for their generosity."
