On Tuesday night, Vince Gill joined a handful of other Country greats when he became a temporary artist in residence at the Nashville's Ford Theater, where he performed the first installment of three. Gill, already a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, follows the footsteps of another Hall of Famer, Kris Kristofferson. It is tradition for an artist to perform their show in an anything-goes style setting. During Gill's first series, guests shouted out requests, and he played until his fingers got tired. The more laid back setting offered the Hall of Famer the opportunity to play to the crowd for over two hours and 20 minutes, making frequent stops to make small jokes and keep the fans involved.
