Tanya Tucker Joins Billy Joe Shaver at L.A. Show

9/24/2007 Stephen L. Betts Recent California transplant Tanya Tucker dropped in on the Los Angeles show of her friend, Texas outlaw Billy Joe Shaver, last week. The Sept. 21 concert at L.A.’s Molly Malone’s celebrated the imminent release of Billy Joe’s new album, Everybody’s Brother. Tanya performed with Billy Joe on “Played the Game Too Long,” on which she duets with him on the new album. Her daughter Layla also joined in, singing an a cappella version of Billy Joe’s “Live Forever.” After the show, Billy Joe and Tanya hung around to talk with fans outside the club, during a rare L.A. fall downpour. Billy Joe’s album, Everybody’s Brother, which will be released tomorrow (9/25), was produced by John Carter Cash. Other guests on the CD include Kris Kristofferson and Marty Stuart.
