Truckin' with Aaron Tippin

8/14/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Aaron Tippin will perform for truckers at this year’s Great American Trucking Show in Dallas on Aug. 24. The singer tells eTrucker.com that the trucking industry has been a major influence on his life and music career, and that he’s currently got an album of trucker songs in the works. The former truck driver says his stint as a team driver lasted only a few years, but the impact the industry has had on him is evident in his music, and at home, where his collection of antique Mack trucks help him work the Tippin family farm. “'Working Man’s Ph.D.,' 'Toolbox;' there are plenty of my songs that truckers can relate to,” says Aaron. “I am very quickly recognized at truck stops because of my blue collar lifestyle. It’s pretty rewarding to be a guy they recognize.”
