Troy Gentry Celebrates Success of "Roll With Me"

Celebrating a No. 1 song is an exciting event not only for the artists, but also for the songwriters.  BMI hosted a party for just that reason this week to mark the success of Montgomery Gentry's latest, “Roll With Me.” Troy Gentry even stopped by to celebrate with them.The song was written by Clint Daniels and Tommy Karlas. Daniels, a BMI songwriter has had one other song to reach the No. 1 spot -- “Brokenheartsville,” recorded by Joe Nichols. But this is the first No. 1 song for ASCAP songwriter, Tommy Karlas.According to CMT.com, Gentry said he liked the song because of the melody.This is Montgomery Gentry’s fifth song to make it to the top of the charts. Others include “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Something To Be Proud Of,” “Lucky Man” and “Back When I Knew It All.”
