12/12/2007 Stephen L. Betts Travis Tritt is suing his record label, Category 5 Records. According to CMT.com, the singer has filed a 10-million-dollar lawsuit against the Nashville-based company, claiming label executives didn't provide him with an accurate accounting of their expertise or of the label's finances. Travis also alleges he wasn't allowed creative control over his latest CD, The Storm, which was released through Category 5 in August, and that he's been short-changed to the tune of $400,000. The suit is the latest headache for label owner, Ray Termini, who's also being investigated by the Connecticut attorney general's office. Termini is also the CEO of the Middletown, CT-based Haven Healthcare, which declared bankruptcy last month. Authorities are looking into whether Termini illegally launched the record label with Medicaid money. Termini has denied any wrongdoing regarding funds from the healthcare company.
