Trisha Yearwood Joins Lorianne Crook for Christmas Cooking

st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } Country star Trisha Yearwood and her mother, Gwen, recently joined Lorianne Crook for her first Celebrity Kitchen Holiday Special. The group made two of Yearwood’s special desserts and enjoyed a bit of music as well. Fans can catch the episode Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. EST on RFD-TV.  Yearwood took two recipes from her cookbook, Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen, which she co-authored with her mother and sister, Beth. Yearwood picked the two desserts because they are both her and Garth’s favorites: a cocoa cake with caramel icing and a German chocolate cake with coconut icing.  “This is cooking as it should be – full of friends, family and fun,” said Crook in a statement. “Trisha and I had such a great time trading cooking tips and shortcuts, and we inadvertently show that cooking isn’t always as easy as it seems. We run into our own little problems, like chatting so much we forgot to put the chocolate in the chocolate cake! And it was great to have her mom on hand to spill the beans about Trisha’s worst kitchen disaster. We did as much laughing as we did cooking.” The Yearwoods joined Crook in the Tennessee Ballroom at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center for the show. The audience got to sample the cakes and got some of Yearwood’s Christmas Caramel candy as well. Yearwood also performed her hit, “How Do I Live,” and other songs from her Christmas album, The Sweetest Gift.
