8/29/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Trisha Yearwood's contribution to Reba McEntire's duets album is a song both artists were familiar with. Trisha had previously been pitched "She Can't Save Him," and although she really liked the song she didn’t record it. Reba reportedly had a similar experience with the tune. “It’s funny,” says Trisha, “the same kind of group of songs … make the rounds. There’s usually a group of songs going around that people [have] heard before.” Although "She Can't Save Him" wasn't originally written to be a duet, a backstory was created for the song so that the two women could sing it as if they were discussing a friend in a bad relationship. Unlike some of the artists joing Reba on Duets, this isn't the first time she and Trisha have worked together. A few years ago the pair joined Martina McBride and Linda Davis for a rendition of "On My Own." "She Can't Save Him" is on Reba Duets, which will arrive in stores Sept. 18.
