Trisha Ponders Babyface, Pavarotti

9/17/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Trisha Yearwood joins Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds for the latest CMT Crossroads premiering this Friday night (9/21). Trisha joins Babyface on his classics including “Exhale (The Shoop Shoop Song)”, “Take a Bow” and “When Can I See You.” “The entire evening was a highlight for me,” says Trisha. “I respect his talents as a singer, songwriter and producer. I always wanted to sing those songs and Crossroads was the perfect setting to sing songs I’d probably never sing otherwise.” Trisha also reflects on another notable pairing she was fortunate to experience. In 1998, during the For the Children of Liberia concert Trisha performed with the legendary Luciano Pavarotti, who died Sept. 6. Of that event, during which the pair sang Trisha’s “How Do I Live,” Trisha says, “I can tell you that it was magic. Singing with him is one of the highlights of my career. I will always remember the moment onstage with him when I told myself ‘You are singing with Pavarotti’.”
