Other Cyrus Making a Name

Miley Cyrus and dad Billy Ray Cyrus apparently are not the only artists in the family.

 

18-year-old son Trace Cyrus, Billy Ray’s son, is part of a Los Angeles demo band called Metro Station, and they've generated a buzz in the City of Angels without playing on Trace's family name. In fact, the band sold out a show at the legendary Troubadour earlier this month.

  

"I wanted to see how long we could go without anybody knowing," Trace told The Los Angeles Times. "It's not like I didn't want to be associated with that, but I didn't want to be put in a genre where I had to be 'Approved for mothers and 12-year-olds.' I want to be myself."

  

Trace's dangerous look is quite different from Miley's appearance. He has facial piercings and a ton of tattoos.

 

"As you can see by going to his show or seeing a photo, we're very different," Miley said. "Trace's success has nothing to do with the family. He worked hard all on his own."
