11/19/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Trace Adkins will be among an all-star celebrity lineup of 14 contestants on the new season of The Celebrity Apprentice with host Donald Trump, premiering Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008m at 9:00 p.m. (ET). Joining Trace will be Carol Alt, Stephen Baldwin, Nadia Comaneci, Tiffany Fallon, Jennie Finch, Nely Galan, Marilu Henner, Lennox Lewis, Piers Morgan, Omarosa, Tito Ortiz, Vincent Pastore, and Gene Simmons. Contestants won’t be vying for a job with Donald Trump on this seventh season of the highly-rathed NBC show. Instead they’ll be working toward a greater goal - raising over one million dollars for their various charities throughout the season. Not only will the final winner be crowned the first “Celebrity Apprentice,” but he or she will also have the honor of delivering a $250,000 bonus check to their designated charity. All 14 celebrities will be competing in business driven tasks around New York City, using their fame along with their proven business acumen to win challenges, while ultimately raising money and awareness for their respective causes. Just as in the regular Apprentice, the celebrities will be subjected to long hours, grueling mental challenges, personality clashes, and intense scrutiny -- all without the help of their regular support system of agents, managers, and personal assistants. Certain tasks encourage the contestants to reach out to their network of celebrity contacts for assistance or donations - making for entertaining surprise visits by some of the world's biggest stars along the way. In other Trace news, on Saturday (11/17), the singer signed copies of his just-released first book, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck at a Nashville bookstore. Before meeting the hundreds of fans who showed up for the event, Trace spoke with CountryHound, and other media representatives about his approach to writing the book, and how it reveals a side of him rarely seen. “There’s a lot of stuff in this book that exposes me as a more sensitive individual than people may have thought,” says Trace. He also says he really didn’t leave out too many details in this book, and that a sequel is not very likely – for now.  “There’s really nothing else that happened earlier in my life that I could put in this book, until my mama dies. There’s stuff in there now that I don’t want her to know. I don’t want her to read this book. So, please don’t tell her it’s out.” Trace’s new CD, American Man, Greatest Hits Volume II will be released Dec. 4 (and we’re pretty sure he’s OK with us telling his mama about that).
