Trace Adkins Inspired Comic Book Released Next Month

Posted by Sarah Norton on 10/27/2009

Trace Adkins is already a platinum-selling Country artist, a reality TV star, a best-selling author and an actor. But on Nov. 11, he will also be a comic book action hero. Gauge Comics will release Luke McBain #1 on that day, with subsequent issues being released through February 2010.

Luke McBain was inspired by Adkins' likeness and personality. Comic book writer David Tischman and 12 Gauge publisher Keven Gardner spent time with the Country star to make the character authentic.

The comic is filled with Southern charm and lots of action. The first issue follows McBain back to his Louisiana hometown after 14 years in prison, serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. As the hero tries to make things better in the town, many people aren’t happy to have him there but McBain fights his way back.

Luke McBain comic books will also be available on and through the publisher’s website, A special limited Tour Edition of Luke McBain #1 will be available at Adkins' concerts starting in November.

Fans can catch Trace Adkins on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Thursday, Nov. 12, or during his co-headlining tour with Martina McBride, which starts Nov. 21.
