Todd Fritsch to Tour US Military Bases

11/19/2007 Stephen L. Betts Country singer Todd Fritsch has partnered with Armed Forces Entertainment for a three-week tour of U.S. bases in the Caribbean Dec. 3- 20.  Todd and his band Stampede will heat things up for troops at Guantanamo Bay (Cuba), Soto Cano (Honduras), Curacao and San Juan (Puerto Rico). The trip has a special meaning for Todd's soundman, Enrique Alvarado and bassist Robert DiBlanco; Enrique's cousin will be in attendance at the 'Gitmo' show, and Robert served in the German Air Force. For Todd, whose grandfather, uncle, and six great-uncles served in the military, the tour is a special honor. “It's a great way to end this year - entertaining our troops in the Caribbean,” says Todd. “I can't wait to meet the soldiers and thank them personally for their service to our country. I hope they enjoy the shows.” Although he had to cancel some stateside gigs to make time for this tour, Todd is looking forward to more than just singing. Word has already reached his home state of Texas that a big chili cook-off is being planned for the Honduras date. “We get to judge the contest,” says Todd.  “I bet there are some great cooks there - and I'm hoping for some of the hot stuff!” Todd is no stranger to taking his music all over the world. This summer, he racked up some frequent-flyer miles on his third tour of France, with a show in Lyon on Sept. 22, where he was honored with the "Independent Artist of the Year" award from the French Association of Country Music. Before the Armed Forces shows, he'll make his first appearance at the Celebrity Cutting competition in Fort Worth on Nov. 30.  Todd’s latest single, “First Date (For the Last Time),” from the album, Sawdust, will be released internationally next month.
