Toby's Latest Hits No. 1

Betts Toby Keith sits atop the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart this week with “Love Me If You Can.” As the lyrics state, the song is about being “a man of my convictions,” and Toby's no stranger to fighting for the right to be himself. Toby recalls that early in career his record label tried to change much about the way he looked and sounded. “When I finally started dressing out of my own closet is when I became successful,” he says. “I finally just said, ‘Hey, I'm the captain of this ship, and I'm gonna sail it.’” Toby’s first No. 1 hit was his debut single, 1993’s “Should've Been a Cowboy.
