Toby Keith Receives Military Honor

Country Music star Toby Keith is being honored for his well-known support for the armed forces, this time in the form of a Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Distinguished Service Award.The MOAA will honor Keith in a ceremony to take place April 21 in Washington, D.C. The organization also will bestow various honors upon Senator Jim Webb (D-Va.), Representatives Susan Davis (D-Calif.) and John McHugh (R-N.Y.), the Union Pacific Railroad, volunteer bugler Tom Day and two congressional staffers, David Kildee and Jeanette James.Keith, a long-time supporter of the USO, is about to embark on his eighth tour and has performed more than 100 shows for the organization. Last year, Keith was honored in the U.S. House of Representatives for his support of the military.MOAA is the nation’s largest veteran's organization for active duty, National Guard, Reserve, former and retired military officers, their families and surviving spouses.
