'The Singing Bee' Returns to CMT

Country Music Television has decided to bring back hit series The Singing Bee for a second season beginning Friday, Jan. 15, at 9 p.m. EST.

Television star Melissa Peterman will host the weekly, one-hour episodes again, and according to a news release, the new season promises more laughs and excitement.

The Singing Bee tests the contestants, who are pulled from the audience, on their knowledge of Country Music and other genre favorites. Contestants must accurately sing the lyrics, and if they fail to do so, are eliminated from the competition.

The CMT game show’s first season ranked as the network’s highest-rated series of the year. Full episodes of the first season are available on CMT.com.
