The Franklin Theatre has announced a Green Nights concert with hometown country stars The Judds on Oct. 18  to help benefit the historic landmark.

The Green Nights concert series is proud to add Naomi and Wynonna Judd to the lineup to help sustain the nonprofit Franklin Theatre. They will play the 300-seat venue in October, and tickets go on sale Sept. 23 at www.franklintheatre.com. Tickets for “Green Nights Presents The Judds” start at $85.

“As Williamson County residents, The Judds have been devoted friends of the Franklin Theatre for years,” says Mary Pearce, Executive Director of the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County, which recently restored the venue. “We are incredibly grateful to Naomi and Wynonna for lending their voices to help make sure the theatre has a bright future.”

Naomi and Wynonna are both pleased to return to the Franklin Theatre. “The heart of Franklin is the theater and it’s beating again,” says Naomi Judd. “It never occurred to me that we’d have the thrill of actually performing up on its stage, looking out at smiling familiar neighbors. Pardon me if I shed a tear of nostalgic joy.”

The duo has five GRAMMY Awards, more than 60 industry awards that include eight consecutive CMA Awards and 25 singles on the country charts – 14 went to No. 1 and sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

The Judds released their newest compilation album, I Will Stand By You: The Essential Collection earlier this year. The Curb Records album features new songs as well as classic hits. The two also starred in a docu-series entitled “The Judds,” that premiered earlier this year on the Oprah Winfrey Network. The mother-daughter duo was followed as they prepared for their first tour in 10 years. And the series debuted as the highest rated premiere outside of OWN’s launch week.

When The Judds take the Franklin Theatre stage, the Heritage Foundation will honor their contribution by planting a legacy tree in a public space in Williamson County to help reinforce the Green Nights philosophy of giving back to the community and environment.

In 1937, the Franklin Theatre was built and re-opened to the public on June 3 after their multi-year, multi-million dollar restoration. And now the Green Nights concert series continues their efforts to keep it up and running with previous artists Vince Gill, Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith and the upcoming show with The Judds.
