12/18/2007 Stephen L. Betts   Blake Shelton's 20-member Oklahoma choir took on Tom Cochrane's “Life is a Highway,” (also a hit for Rascal Flatts), for their debut performance on NBC's Clash of the Choirs last night (Monday 12/17). Although Blake has admitted he was hesitant to say yes to the musical competition right away, his ensemble proved they had a few good dance moves as well, and could also hit the notes. Girlfriend Miranda Lambert was among those in the audience cheering on Team Shelton. Blake’s singers are competing against ensembles headed by Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey and Kelly Rowland. The winner will take home $250,000 for a local charity. Blake’s choir is performing for Project Rebuild, which helps with natural disaster recovery; and MWR, which supports members of the military and their families. Two of Blake's choir members are in the service. Clash of the Choirs continues tonight. One group will be eliminated while the remaining choirs will sing again, vying for viewer votes to stay in the competition.
