It's Official: Taylor's "Best Day Ever"

12/7/2007 Stephen L. Betts Taylor Swift was at the podium yesterday morning when her name was called as a nominee in the Best New Artist Grammy category yesterday morning in Los Angeles. She excitedly embraced some of the fellow artists onstage. “I didn't even think I was being considered for that nomination. So, why not hug the Foo Fighters?,” says Taylor. She’d also received some more good news yesterday before the nominations, when she learned that her self-titled debut album has been certified double-platinum, signifying sales of two million units. “I decided to go into today knowing that I would have a good day, whether or not I was nominated,” she says. “I was just really excited to be in the same room with Fergie and Akon, and then I looked around on that stage and it looked like my iPod! My label just told me this morning that my CD is certified double-platinum and I got a huge nomination I didn’t even see coming! Now this has officially been The Best Day Ever!”
