Taylor Swift Attends Faux Prom

Country Music recording artist Taylor Swift made her own "prom" Monday in downtown Nashville. The celebration, thrown in part by Swift's label, Big Machine Records, and BMI, her performance rights organization, was to honor the teen's musical successes and upcoming high school graduation. Swift has legitimate reason to party. Her self-titled debut album has gone triple platinum, and the single "Our Song" hung on to the top spot of Billboard Country Music charts for six weeks. On Sunday, Taylor Swift will be up for three Academy of Country Music Awards: Top Female Vocalist, Top New Female Vocalist and Album of the Year. According to CMT News, the singer-songwriter was decked out for the party in a powder-blue gown and tiara as she accepted compliments on her songwriting accomplishments. Swift said, "I would love to start getting cuts on other people's albums." CMT News also reports that Taylor Swift will soon be featured in an ad campaign for L.e.i. clothing.
