It turns out country queen Taylor Swift may be the cause of poor magazine circulation, according to a Fox News article.

The Audit Bureau of Circulations reports the month Swift was on the cover of Elle was the magazine’s worst selling issue of the year.

And the issues of Marie Claire and Glamour on which Swift graced the covers didn’t get readers to magazine stands either.

“Taylor Swift doesn’t create the same kind of narrative that people love to follow,” said Richard Rushfield, pop culture expert and contributor to the Daily Beast. “The days of being a nice person and just looking pretty on the cover are behind us.”

Despite the songstress’s shortcomings as a cover girl, her ability to sell albums remains through the roof. The country star is 2010’s best-selling artist, her "Speak Now" release having sold 276,000 copies this week alone.

Swift, who took home the Favorite Country Artist trophy at Wednesday’s “People’s Choice Awards,” is currently climbing the charts with her current single “Back to December.”
