2009 has been a big year for Taylor Swift with all of her No. 1 singles and her sophomore album reaching No. 1 on the charts. This soon to be 19-year-old Country star may have a busy lifestyle, but she stays humble. Her family is of great importance, and she respects her parents and their advice, unlike most teenagers. In an interview with Women’s Health, Swift said that her father “is the king of one-liners. So, he has about 50 million pieces of advice. He’ll say, ‘Buy bonds!’ instead of ‘bye – bye!’ because he’s a stockbroker.” Swift's mother also supports her daughter through all of her success and is there to comfort her after breakups, which lend lyrics to her successful songs. Her mother’s advice is “Don’t ever call a guy first,” Swift said. “The thing they want the most is whatever they can’t have. It sounds really juvenile, but it works.” Taylor Swift appeared on ABC’s American Music Awards last night, where she was nominated for and won Favorite Female Country Artist. "The special thing about the American Music Awards is that they’re voted on by the fans," she said in her acceptance speech. "It’s an honor that you even care about the songs I write in my bedroom," she continued. "Thank you so much; you have no idea how much this means to me."Swift is also GAC’s November Artist of the Month.
