9/17/2007 Stephen L. Betts Taylor Swift joined Governor Phil Bredesen and the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP) today (9/17) to launch “Delete Online Predators,” a new statewide public education campaign designed to combat Internet crimes against children. The yearlong campaign will distribute Internet safety information and materials to parents and middle school students across the state. Taylor’s message to young people is simple: “Chatting with friends and surfing the Internet is cool. But it's important to stay safe. Be smart about keeping your identity private when online.” She also encourages an estimated 150,000 sixth- , seventh- and eighth-graders across Tennessee to take the NetSmartz Safety Pledge, developed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The pledge, along with other educational materials, can be downloaded at www.deletepredators.com. Meanwhile, on the Billboard Country Album chart, Taylor spends her 8th big week at No. 1.
