Taylor Swift Gives Prom Advice

Taylor Swift will appear as the cover girl for the Spring 2009 issue of Your Prom magazine and talked with them about her first kiss, dream prom date and songwriting. Swift talked about where she draws her inspiration for songs she writes: previous relationships and boys. She also divulged that she had her first kiss at the age of 15. “I was 15 and the oldest out of all my friends to have not kissed a guy,” said Swift to Your Prom. She also told the magazine that her dream prom date would be Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford. Swift offered other advice for girls getting ready for prom in the spring. “Be a social butterfly. Don’t just hang with your boyfriend,” she said. “Save the slow dances for him, but dance with everyone. And don’t let petty prom drama ruin the evening.” She also addressed her biggest peeve, which is people who buy into the attention and fame they receive. She said that she uses the situations and relationships she has in life to work through and figure things out, likening songwriting to “breathing.”
